Hucknall Business Club holds successful first meeting
Hucknall Business Club met for the first time on Thursday evening (10 February) at The Station Hotel.
The event saw owners from around 15 different local businesses share information and ideas at the networking gathering.
The meeting opened with each business owner getting five minutes to explain the services their business offers and a bit of background about how they started as well as their future plans.
There was also some roundtable discussion on what future meetings would look like and what each individual was looking to get out of the meetings in the long run.
Speaking exclusively to Hucknall Nub News, Andy Middleton, who organised the event in his role as the head of the North Nottinghamshire arm of networking group Catena, said: "For the first event, it was a great turnout, great to meet some local businesses who are all keen to promote themselves and help promote other businesses and we're excited for the next one."
Regional Editor of Hucknall Nub News, Tom Surgay, who was also in attendance, said: "It was fantastic to meet with lots of like-minded people and find out about their businesses and how they've coped during the global pandemic. Hucknall is sometimes overlooked as a place where businesses can thrive, and the networking evening proved that this is completely wrong.
"If we continue to meet and work together, there is every reason to think that Hucknall can indeed become a business hub that rivals the majority of towns in Nottingham. I hope that Nub News can play a valuable part in this journey."
The second meeting of the group will take place in March at a yet to be confirmed venue. As soon as the plans are finalised, it will be added to our 'What's On' section of the website.
