A short film written and directed by a man from Hucknall will premiere at The Arc Cinema next month.
'A Picture of Memory' by Bradley Severn will have its first screening on Thursday 2 December at 7pm, with a champagne reception beforehand.
The film is about a World War II veteran who visits a cinema every day when a new war movie is released, to help him relive the memories of his time in the war.
One of the key themes is the main character's battle with Alzheimer's disease and as such a percentage of the ticket sales from the premiere will go to the Alzheimer's Society. There will also be a raffle and a donation bucket to raise extra funds for the charity.
This is a cause close to Mr Severn's heart having seen family members suffer with the illness.
Following the screening there will be a Q&A with Mr Severn, giving the audience an opportunity to interact with the director and get an exclusive insight into the creative process behind the film.
Speaking to Hucknall Nub News Mr Severn said: "I'm really excited for it but I'm also pretty nervous. I think the screening should run smoothly and the film will look really good but I'll sort of be sat watching it thinking I wish I'd improved this scene or shot it differently.
"I think it's really awesome to have feedback from the audience getting them involved with it and then that feedback I can use for the next film I write and shoot."
Mark Gallagher, manager of The Arc Cinema in Hucknall: "We had such a good night with Haresh's film premiere, we were really keen to do another one. Bradley's a regular customer, he's a really lovely lad, we've forged a relationship with him, he's filmed some promotional videos for us.
"It's really important to support local filmmakers. This guy could go on to direct the next Bond film, I know that's a bit of a stretch but people have to start somewhere. And just like football clubs support grassroots football similarly we want to support grassroots filmmaking. It's great that we've got people like Bradley locally and we'll support him any way we can."
Tickets are on sale now, with adult tickets £9.75 each, concessions £7.75 each and child tickets £6.75 each. They can be purchased by clicking here.
