Hucknall residents are set to face further council tax hikes as Ashfield District Council plans to put up taxes by 2.6 per cent for most households.
The council has blamed "ongoing cuts in funding" for the increases and said the extra £5 per household would be used to deliver "the high levels expected by our residents".
Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottinghamshire Police are also planning to increase their council tax precepts for the next financial year.
Cllr David Martin, cabinet member for finance, revenues and benefits said: "We know how hard it is for residents at the moment with energy, petrol and food costs rising.
"Raising council tax is not a decision we take lightly, but for us to continue to deliver all our services, not just the ones we are legally required to, it is necessary this year."
The district council is planning the 2.6 per cent increase for 80 per cent of residents in the area.
District councils were permitted to increase tax by the larger of £5 or 1.99 per cent annually.
"The council delivers a huge number of discretionary services including parks & open spaces, markets & events, leisure facilities and community safety," added Cllr Martin.
"All of which we deliver because we know how important they are to residents, but they all require funding and the small increase in this years Council Tax will allow us to continue to do that."
