There is severe disruption to train services on the Nottingham/Mansfield /Worksop route this morning which means that currently there aren't any trains calling at Hucknall station.

This has been caused by the theft of signalling cables overnight at Radford Junction.

Trains are therefore being diverted which means the scheduled calls to Hucknall, Newstead and Bulwell stations are not possible.

East Midlands Railway expects the disruption to last until at least midday today. Network Rail staff are on site and have identified which cables need replacing. The replacement cables are en-route to the site. Once they arrive, they will take approximately two hours to be installed.

In the meantime, NET Trams are accepting train tickets between Hucknall, Bulwell and Nottingham. Tickets will also be accepted by Northern Trains between Nottingham-Sheffield and on the Sheffield-Worksop-Lincoln route.

Buses are on standby to replace any cancelled train service this morning. Passengers are asked to be aware that replacement buses will include an extended journey time of up to an hour.

Further updates as well as information on how to cancel your ticket or potentially claim compensation can be found here .
