Tickets are now on sale for the Batman fan event at Hucknall's Arc Cinema.

The event will take place on Friday 4 March to coincide with the release of director Matt Reeves' film 'The Batman'.

All ticketholders, as well as getting to see the film, will have the opportunity to have their picture taken next to the Batmobile from the 1989 Batman film which starred Michael Keaton as the title character.

The vehicle will be parked next to the cinema for the entire evening, giving fans a chance to get a close look at the iconic piece of machinery and ultimate bit of film memorabilia.

Speaking exclusively to Hucknall Nub News, Mark Gallagher, manager of the cinema said: "When there's something associated with the film like a car or a casino, something obvious, you've got to do it (hold an event). It seems like now people are expecting it. It's just a no brainer to put an event together.

"Arguably the last good Batman film was Christian Bale's Dark Night trilogy. Since then, we've had Ben Affleck play Batman in a couple of non-Batman films: Justice League and Superman vs Batman which weren't very successful.

"This is like a total reset. I still think a lot of customers will be a bit confused and assume it's associated with the Joker film that came out, maybe the Ben Affleck films but it's not, it's totally stand alone. Matt Reeves is a good director, someone I admire, and I've been looking forward to what he does with it for a long time. The first trailer seemed really dark and moody."

The film has been classified as a 15 meaning that customers under this age will be unable to watch the film in the cinema.

However, the Arc doesn't want children to feel completely excluded so they will be offering them the opportunity to have their photo taken next to the Batmobile and not making that part of the evening exclusively for ticketholders.

Mr Gallagher added: "If any kids want to come down and stand with the car and have a photo taken, they get a poster and cone of popcorn, if they can chuck three pounds in the charity bucket that will all go to Hope Lea project."

Tickets for the event are priced at £15.75 each for adults and £13.75 for teenagers. "You get to be up close and personal with the car. We've got a guy in an authentic 1989 Michael Keaton Batman costume. He's going to be stood with the car as well, so these photos hopefully should look really smart. "You also get a large souvenir poster, a couple of postcards, maybe some stickers and a 3D printed batarang which a customer has offered to make us 200 of them using his 3D printer, so shoutout to him. "You get a proper goody bag for only six pounds more than you'd pay to see the film normally. It's important to note that all the extra money will pay for the car and the batman guy himself, any extra profit we make from these tickets will go to charity: the Hope Lea project." However, if fans can't wait until the evening of the film's release to watch it, there will be a midnight screening as the very first showing of the film at The Arc.
