Ashfield District Council has confirmed the changes to bin collections over the Christmas period.
Residents in Hucknall and across the district whose bins are normally collected on Mondays, will not have a collection on Boxing Day (26 December) and the collection will instead be made on Christmas Eve (Saturday 24 December).
Households that usually have their bins collected on Tuesdays, will not have their usual collection on Tuesday 27 December, this will be moved back a day to Wednesday 28 December. This will then mean that all collections will be a day later than usual up until Saturday 7 January. Collection dates will return to normal on Monday 10 January.
The Council also confirmed that on the first red bin collection after Christmas, residents will be able to put out one extra bag of waste.
A statement on their Facebook page said: "Please note that collections due to take place on Monday 26th December will take place on Saturday 24th December - this is the only collection that has moved backwards
"On your first general waste collection after Christmas, we will be collecting one additional bag of general waste to help with extra waste this festive season. Please leave the extra bag alongside your red lidded bin."
