There will be a garage sale on the Papplewick Green estate this Sunday (29 August) with all money raised from stall registrations going to Hucknall food bank.

The event is being organised by Katie Leivers who lives on the estate. As well as the stalls, there will be collection baskets for food donations that will be given to the foodbank.

Ms Leivers has also been running daily raffles on her Facebook page with all proceeds also going to the foodbank.

Speaking exclusively to Hucknall Nub News, she said: "My friend had organised one around Arnold and it was like a jumble safari, it was a huge success, and they raised a lot of money for the local food bank, they did raffles and everything etc.

"Papplewick Green obviously there's so many families there's a Facebook page that they have just for the people there and I just think it's something as a community we need to do more. I'm also all about recycling and reusing things; one man's junk is another man's treasure."

A map listing the 25 addresses participating and how to find them has been printed and can be collected from the Co-Op on Papplewick Green. These maps are ready to collect and can be picked up before Sunday if convenient.

Ms Leivers added: "Obviously if it's a success we'll do it again."

Anyone who would like more information about the event, can view more details on our What's On events page (the flyer says proceeds will be donated to Arnold food bank, this is incorrect it will go to the Hucknall food bank).
