The cost of all but three fares for Nottingham's tram network will be increasing from Monday 3 April.

Initially, only the new prices of adult single tickets, adult day tickets and the annual pass were published.

However the Local Democracy Reporting Service has now seen a full list of all planned fare increases across the Nottingham Express Transit (NET) network.

Only the short hop ticket, the group ticket and the concessionary day fare will be excluded from the planned price hikes.

The short hop ticket will remain at £1.50, the group ticket will stay at £8 for off-peak and £12 during peak times, and the concessionary day fare will stay at £3.50.

Tramlink, an investment partner in the network, said it is a "necessary move" to ensure the continued operation of the service, with the network's electricity costs having reportedly soared by as much as 700 per cent amid the cost of living crisis.

It comes around a year after another price increase in March 2022.

Tim Hesketh, the chief executive of Tramlink, said: "The tram is a low-carbon public transport option for thousands of people living, working and studying in and around Nottingham, which is also helping the city work towards its 2028 carbon neutral goal.

"This is a necessary move to ensure we can continue to operate a convenient and reliable service throughout the city, especially during peak travel times, while reacting to the current economic landscape including abnormally high inflation and rising energy costs.

"We usually review ticket prices at the start of the year and we have delayed making this decision for as long as possible."
