A Hucknall Care Home is encouraging members of the local community to paint rocks or pebbles so that they can be placed in its memory garden.
Harrier House Care Home, situated on Hurricane Road, is in need of decorative elements to add to its new memory garden which it is setting up for its residents.
The memory garden will be a place where residents, their families, and the staff team can sit, reflect, and remember.
Residents at Harrier House have already decorated their own pebbles with art that is meaningful to them as part of the home's enriching activities and social programme.
Now, they are asking the people of Hucknall to join in by adding their own personally decorated stones to the garden.
Every pebble that is decorated will be added to the memory garden. However, there is a competitive element to this too as the home will be judging each effort and choosing a winner who will be awarded a prize.
Speaking exclusively to Hucknall Nub News, Nichola Ince, Activities Lead at Harrier House said: "The residents would like hand painted, colourful pebbles to sit alongside some plants and shrubs chosen and cared for by the residents as part of their much-loved gardening club. We hope it will be a calming area for reflection, which can be enjoyed by all."
Anyone who would like to add their own painted pebble to the garden at Harrier House is encouraged to contact their activities team on (0115) 704 4560.
