Trentbarton has confirmed the new timetable for its Hucknall Connect bus services which will commence from Monday 3 April.

The final bus on the blue route will leave Hucknall Station at 6:45pm and arrive back there at 7:15pm, whilst the final bus on the green route will leave the station at 7pm and terminate at 7:30pm.

There will no longer be any service on Sundays.

It was announced earlier this month that the company would be scaling back its services when the Government's financial support finishes at the end of March.

Public transport usage is still some way off reaching pre-pandemic levels, leaving operators with huge shortfalls.

Nottinghamshire County Council made the decision to subsidise 11 bus services that operators were planning to cancel, however the Connect was not one of these.

At the time of the announcement, Trentbarton's managing director, Jeff Counsell, said: "Unfortunately the numbers have not sufficiently recovered and the local authority support is not being continued for those parts of the services affected. For any customers who are inconvenienced by the changes, we are sorry."

The decision has drawn criticism on social media from residents who regularly rely on the service to help with their commute to work or to reach the town centre.

The County Council has promised to carry out a review of all bus services later this year with a view to providing support where they feel there are gaps.
