Around 20 children have enjoyed a summer camp held by Hucknall Cricket Club this week.
In its third year, the camp has been run from Wednesday to Friday by first team coach Duncan Bembridge and first team captain Sam Johnson.
Speaking exclusively to Nub News Johnson said: "We get a really good uptake. It gives lads a chance to focus on more of your cricket specifics that on a Friday night you might not get that time to do.
"It gives us three days for a bit more in depth coaching and it just helps their development to be playing three days of cricket, they're tired by the end of it but it's all worth it."
The camp was only open to players aged between 11 and 15, already on Hucknall's books this year but there is the hope that in future years it will be opened up to those not already affiliated with the club.
Hucknall Cricket Club prides itself in its strong youth system and giving those players opportunities in their senior teams.
Johnson added: "One of our under-15s made his first team Premier League debut at the weekend and he opened the batting, Joel Jordan, he did really well.
"I'm first team captain so it's nice to invest in the youth that hold the club together. Each adult team that we put out is littered with guys who've come through the youth system. We had a couple of weeks ago, a 13-year-old take six wickets in the Sunday first team, bowling leg spin.
"Things like this summer camp I think will only help to develop the cricketers we've got and hopefully, from a wider community perspective, attract new people to come and join."
