Firefighters from Hucknall were one of three crews who helped rescue a family of four from a domestic fire in the early hours of this morning.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at 03:09am to a fire at a home in Cullins Close, Rise Park.

A forty-year-old man, twenty-nine-year-old woman, three-year-old child, and a two-month-old baby were accounted for within 15 minutes. They were rescued from the detached property using a nine-metre ladder.

As well as a fire engine from Hucknall station, engines from Arnold and Stockhill stations also attended the scene.

Crews used a hose reel jet, breathing apparatuses and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.

The residents were assisted by paramedics at the scene and are currently undergoing further checks at Queens Medical Centre.

A Fire Investigation to determine the cause of the incident has taken place today.

Arnold Station Manager, Paul Harley, said: "Crews did an excellent job, working well as a team to rescue residents as quickly as possible and extinguish the fire."
