Hucknall firefighters have attended over 100 incidents this month.
Recent spells of hot weather resulted in a number of grassfires significantly increasing the number of callouts that Nottingham Fire and Rescue Service attended and putting pressure on its resources. This led to the service calling for the public to work with them to help prevent fires.
Unsurprisingly this saw crews from Hucknall Fire Station pass the ton milestone for calls attended in August with a couple of days in the month still remaining.
A post on Hucknall Fire Station's Facebook page read: "Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service have been extremely busy throughout August, attending a variety of jobs. Hucknall Fire Station is generally a busy station anyway but yesterday we hit 100 jobs for August!
A massive well done to all the firefighters that are keeping our communities safe but a huge thanks to the communities and people for their ongoing support."
The fire station in Hucknall is part of the tri-service emergency services hub on Annesley Road which also houses police and ambulance service staff. On-call firefighters staff the station, carrying pagers and either responding from home or another place of work.
