The fitness suite at Hucknall Leisure Centre has reopened as normal today (Thursday 10 February), after an electrical fault forced it to close yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 9 February).

The suite which only opened last August, is part of the £20millon investment into the District's leisure centres by Ashfield District Council and Everyone Active which operates the centres.

This investment has seen Hucknall's Leisure Centre get a fresh new reception area with new café provision, new toilet facilities and a new changing village as well as a refresh for the existing squash courts.

Work on a second swimming pool is due to begin later this year.

Simon Fearn, Everyone Active's regional contract manager, said: "The fitness suite was closed for around two hours yesterday afternoon due to an electrical fault, which was quickly resolved.

"We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused and look forward to seeing them again soon."
