Hucknall racer Ruben Hage is looking forward to racing at his local track, Donington Park this weekend (Saturday 23 October and Sunday 24 October) in the penultimate round of the Junior Saloon Car Championship.

Hage heads into the weekend fourth in the championship, 23 points adrift of third placed driver Alfie Jeakins. Before the season began a top three championship finish had been the target as Ruben was fourth in 2020.

Speaking exclusively to Hucknall Nub News he said: "I think all we can do now is do everything we can and try and enjoy the rest of the season. It'd be nice to improve on where we left off last year."

After a mixed weekend at Pembrey in South Wales, he is looking forward to tackling the Leicestershire circuit which he has never raced at before.

He said: "I think Donington quite suits my driving style compared to some other tracks. It's my favourite track and it's the track that I've been most looking forward to racing on. We did a test there a few weeks ago and it lived up to the expectation. I had really good pace so hopefully we'll get some good results this weekend."

The last two race weekends at Silverstone and Pembrey haven't gone as smoothly as he would have liked but he isn't keen to dwell on the past and wants to concentrate on the remaining races.

"It's done now, we've just got to do everything we can, try and enjoy it now, almost forget about the championship, and do the best we can. Hopefully things will come to us and if they don't it's not the end of the world."
