Nottinghamshire Police are holding two webinars to help local residents and businessowners protect themselves against cybercrime.
The first webinar will take place next Monday (10 October) at 11am and is targeted at members of the public. The one-hour online session, which is free to attend, will detail the latest threats and information about how people can stop them from happening.
The aim of this session will be for attendees to understand what cybercrime is and learn how to help protect themselves from it both at home and at work. This will include identifying what makes a strong password and how to apply and manage passwords, as well as explaining what Two-Factor-Authentication (2FA) is and more.
The second webinar will also take place on Monday (10 October) and will help businesses improve their online security. The one-hour session will start at 1pm and is also free to attend.
Both sessions will be held by Nottinghamshire Police's Cyber Protect team and can be attended by people from across the East Midlands.
Cyber Protect & Prevent Officer Kirsty Jackson said: "You don't need to be a computer expert to avoid becoming a victim of cybercrime. Just developing a few good online habits can drastically reduce the risk of you becoming a victim of cybercrime and that's why we're hosting these webinars.
"Places are limited so please book as soon as possible."
