Hucknall residents can have their say on, or seek advice about, anti-social behaviour next Wednesday (20 July) at a drop-in session hosted by Ashfield District Council and Nottinghamshire Police.

The surgery is one of four taking place in the district next week as part of national Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week.

During the week, council officers from Community Safety, Housing, and Environmental Health teams, alongside Nottinghamshire Police will be present at the drop-in sessions across Ashfield and on hand to listen to the public's concerns and answer any questions they have concerning anti-social behaviour.

The sessions will take place between 11am and 2pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of next week.

As well as visiting Hucknall High Street next Wednesday, there will be drop-ins at Portland Square, Sutton-in-Ashfield on Monday (18 July); Kirkby Plaza on Tuesday (19 July) and Selston Country Park on Friday (22 July).

Councillor Helen-Ann Smith, Lead Executive Member for Community Safety and Crime Reduction, at Ashfield District Council, said: "We are proud to support Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week, a national initiative running between 18-24 July 2022. The Council is committed to tackling anti-social behaviour and these sessions will give us valuable insight into the problems residents are facing.

"It's important that residents feel they can talk to the teams and that their concerns will be listened to, and acted upon. I want to reassure residents that the Council will take all concerns seriously, so please come and talk to us."

In the last 12 months the Council's Community Safety Team have issued 373 Community Protection Warnings, 109 PSPO breaches, 55 Tenancy Warnings, completed 144 safeguarding referrals, and taken 8 cases to court resulting in convictions.
