Hucknall Town completed a dramatic second half turnaround last night (Wednesday 6 April) to beat Saffron Dynamo 2-1 and move back into the play-off places in the Uhlsport United Counties League Division One.

Having suffered a humbling 6-1 defeat at the hands of Aylestone Park on Saturday (2 April), The Yellows began the game sixth in the table a point adrift of the play-off places. However, this trip to Leicestershire was their game in hand and provided an opportunity for them to climb back into fifth place should they win the game.

Things did not start well for Hucknall though, and at half-time they found themselves a goal down courtesy of Jamie Starbuck's strike from distance.

It took until just after the hour mark for Hucknall to equalise. Joe Butler headed home Courtney Bartley's cross to pull the visitors level and set up a grandstand finish.

Hucknall pressed for a winner and with just over ten minutes remaining Craig Westcarr found the back of the net turning in the loose ball after Sam Sims's shot was parried by the Saffron goalkeeper.

This goal proved the difference between the two sides as Hucknall maintained their advantage until the full-time whistle to move back above Aylestone Park in the table by two points with four games remaining for both sides.

Speaking to Hucknall Town's club website after the game, manager Andy Graves said: "We looked very nervous. Obviously, from Saturday, confidence was a bit low, and we know that we can play a lot better.

"With some big games coming up now, we've got to take more of the chances that come our way. Hopefully we've restored a little bit of confidence after Saturday."

Hucknall's next game sees them host second placed Hinckley at Watnall Road on Saturday (9 April) in what should be a thrilling, high quality contest between two promotion hopefuls.
