The Arc Cinema in Hucknall will screen the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II it has confirmed.

The country's longest serving monarch died peacefully at Balmoral on Thursday (8 September) afternoon at the age of 96.

There will be a state funeral for her which will take place next Monday (19 September) from 11:00am at Westminster Abbey. It will be broadcast on television and the day has been declared a Bank Holiday in the UK which will see schools and a large number of businesses closed for the day.

It was announced that the cinema will screen the funeral and suspend all other shows while it takes place.

A social media post from the cinema said: "We have to decided [sic] to screen Her Majesty The Queen's State Funeral on Bank Holiday Monday 19th September at 11am.

"This is a free event but pre-booking your seat is essential.

"There will be no other shows taking place while the funeral is broadcast and we'll resume screening movies from 2pm."
