Here at Hucknall Nub News, we will be keeping you up to date with the results of the Ashfield District Council elections live from the count at Kirkby Leisure Centre.

There are a total of 35 seats being contested, 10 of which are in Hucknall.

The Ashfield Independents currently hold 29 seats but only five of them are in Hucknall.

However there is a recount underway at Stanton Hill & Teversal which means Helen-Ann Smith, deputy leader of the Ashfield Independents is at risk of losing her seat.

03:40 We finally have some results from Hucknall and it's good news for the Ashfield Independents. They have held their two seats in Hucknall Central thanks to Nick Parvin and Lee Waters and have gained two seats from Hucknall in

02:50 Two more holds for Ashfield Independents as they win Ashfields and Jacksdale & Westwood. The second result means that former Hucknall Councillor Chris Baron will not be on the council.

01:50 The second result is in from Underwood after a recount and it's a Conservative gain as Dawn Justice defeats David Martin by 37 votes. Quite a shock!

01:20 We have our first result! Andy Meakin (Ashfield Independent) comfortably holds the Abbey Hill ward.

01:10 Carsic and Larwood wards have now been verified. Larwood is of course currently Jason Zadrozny's seat.

00:49 Underwood is the second ward to be verified and the counting has started. Interestingly there has been a turnout of over 46% there.

00:10 Lee Anderson thinks the people of Ashfield are 'sick of the Independents'. He also says these results aren't an accurate indication of the potential results in the constituency at next year's General Election which he won in 2019 with a majority of 6000.
