Detectives investigating a report of a break-in at a property in Hucknall have arrested a man as part of their enquiries.

Police were called after items were damaged at a house in Florence Street, near Farleys Lane, on Saturday 31 July 2021.

Nothing was believed to have been taken in the incident and police have been working hard to establish the circumstances since it was reported.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection with the incident.

Detective Sergeant Gary Hewson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "As a force, we take burglary very seriously and will always thoroughly investigate reports with the view of taking appropriate action against offenders.

"We are pleased to have made an arrest as part of our investigations and are working hard to establish what happened.

"Burglary can have a massive psychological impact on victims, luckily, it appears nothing was taken in this case but the invasion of a house will have undoubtedly shaken the victim.

"The man arrested has been released on bail pending further enquiries."
