Amir Khan and Kell Brook will finally settle their long-running grudge, which stretches back for over 15 years, in the ring tonight.

Competitiveness in sport is always healthy for fans and the popularity of the sport. In this case, the visceral hatred between the pair dates back to their amateur days.

Khan has always had fame, attention and money from a young age. By contrast, Brook hasn't had the appreciation he deserved.

Khan recalled: "What I've done in sport. The name I've got. You can see how bitter he is. My celebrity status? That comes because of what I've achieved in the sport of boxing. It's not because of other things."

For all the trash talk, Brook will look to have the last word in Manchester at the AO Arena in front of 20,000 fans.

Both fighters have been out of the ring for a long time, which will make it difficult for them to implement their game plan.

Khan will be helped by the fact he has Terence Crawford in his corner – a fighter who has beaten both men in the past. He could provide the extra 1% that gives Khan the upper hand.

Tonight's battle has echoes of the Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank rivalry.

Benn, a former soldier, loved a scrap. Once the bell went, he was a man possessed. I feel Brook is in the same mode, he was confident before the fight saying "It's going to be electric. I'll be firing on all cylinders" .

Khan is more of a showman, more of a Eubank. You get the feeling he doesn't care if the fans are cheering or booing, so long he is getting paid big bucks. Indeed, it has been reported Khan will make £5m versus £3m for Brook.

The power of Brook may cause a few blows to Khan but only if he can catch him in the first six rounds.

Experienced fighters such as Ricky Hatton are confident Khan will win and I tend to agree. I feel it is his hand speed and quick feet movement that could be the difference.

Now they will finally meet and British boxing fans could be in for a classic.
