Mystery surrounds JTF Hucknall store closure

There is uncertainty over the future of JTF Mega Discount Warehouse with the Hucknall store currently closed.

The store closed its doors on Friday and did not reopen this week. The gates to the car park are locked and there is currently a notice on the gates that reads: "This store is temporarily closed until further notice."

There had been extensive offers on existing stock earlier this summer with 50% off all items in the Hucknall store in June before this was increased to 75% off at the start of July. Whilst initially this seemed like a standard summer sale, customers began to frequently comment on social media that there was very little stock in the store and that the sale was beginning to resemble a closing down sale.

The chain has ten other stores across the UK and they also appear to have closed. The company's website is no longer accessible and their social media accounts have been silent since the start of the month and do not appear to be being monitored at this time.

There have been three resignations from the board of directors this month which leaves Arthur Harris as the only active director. Mr Harris purchased the business in January 2020 and there were rumours that following a restructuring process he planned to open more stores nationwide.

Hucknall Nub News has attempted to contact Mr Harris and JTF but so far no response has been forthcoming.

A reliable source, who doesn't work for the company, has revealed exclusively to Hucknall Nub News that staff in Hucknall have been paid a week's wages but have been told little else about their future.

All staff members approached directly by Nub News so far have declined to comment on the situation.
