Nottinghamshire's Police and Crime Commissioner has responded to the Ashfield Independents' submission issued earlier this week.
In the letter, as reported by Nub News , the party, which holds all three of Hucknall's seats on Nottinghamshire County Council, invited Caroline Henry, the Police and Crime Commissioner, on a 'walkabout' around Hucknall later this month.
They also alleged that she promised to carry out a review of Police Estate Strategy in her first 90 days as Commissioner.
However, Commissioner Henry, who was elected to the position in May, has moved to clarify this when contacted by Nub News.
She said: "For clarity, I promised to carry out a wide-ranging public survey on the proposed relocation of Newark Police Station within 90 days. I launched that survey this week, just 46 days into my term of Office, as I promised.
"The review of the wider estate is something I will look to do and I fully intend to consult with local residents and stakeholders, whose experience and knowledge I value greatly, just as I will over the priorities and focus for my police and crime plan.
Commissioner Henry also responded to the Ashfield Independents' call for a police drop-in centre to be created in Hucknall.
"'Drop-in' centres for officers and residents are a matter for the Chief Constable, but I really hope that people will also 'drop in' to see me at my public engagement meetings which will be announced shortly."
