Detectives are appealing for a cyclist, who may have been victim of a robbery in a village just a few miles from Hucknall, to come forward.

It was reported by a member of the public that the victim was stopped by two men wearing face coverings who then threatened him in Main Street, Awsworth.

The incident happened at around 10.15pm yesterday (Tuesday 29 March 2022).

Officers attended but the victim had left the area. Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident are continuing.

It's believed the suspects were both wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.

Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "It is very important we speak to the victim so we can take a full account from him as we continue to investigate what happened.

"I would urge him to get in touch with us as soon as possible. We would also like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this robbery and may have any information which could help us with our enquiries.

"We are pursuing lines of enquiry, including checking CCTV footage and house-to-house enquiries, to understand what happened and we are urging anyone who has any information, including anyone who may have captured dash-cam or mobile phone footage, to please get in contact with us."

Anyone who has any information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 749 of 29 March 2022, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
