One man has been taken to hospital following a three car collision in Hucknall this afternoon (Saturday 30 July).

Police have closed a stretch of Watnall Road, between Long Hill Rise and Shortwood Avenue, meaning that traffic is being forced to either turn around or leave Watnall Road via Shortwood Avenue or Farleys Lane.

As a consequence, motorists are being asked to avoid the area.

Sergeant Simon Spooner, of Nottinghamshire Police, sad: "We received reports of a road traffic collision between three cars near the junction of Shortwood Avenue and Watnall Road, Hucknall, shortly before 1.30pm today (30 July).

"A man has been taken to hospital but the extent of his injuries is currently unknown.

"Our officers remain at the scene and road closures remain in place on Long Hill Rise while we continue with our investigations.

"We want to thank the public for their patience while we deal with the incident and would ask motorists to avoid the area and plan alternate routes."

Anyone with any information or dash-cam footage is asked to contact the police by calling 101 and quoting incident number 338 of 30 July 2022.
