Police in Hucknall were cracking down on dangerous motorists on the town's streets this morning (Monday 13 December).

The Hucknall Beat Team conducted a Fatal 4 operation which involves tackling drivers who are speeding; using mobile phones whilst driving and or in control of a vehicle; not wearing a seat belt or driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs.

A post on Ashfield Police's Facebook page said: "Today the team have handed out a number of tickets. One ticket was handed out for a motorist travelling at 42 MPH in a 30 MPH limit."

The team regularly conduct these operations and are always open to suggestions from local residents of roads that they should cover.

Anyone who has a specific road or area of the town in mind that they would like the police to cover when carrying out a Fatal 4 operation can do so by emailing [email protected].
