Officers from the Hucknall beat team were called to the Rolls Royce estate in the town on Easter Saturday (8 April) following receipt of several reports about the graffiti.

A statement on Ashfield Police's Facebook page, said: "A number of local residents and their properties were affected by graffiti. The graffiti contained obscene and offensive language and symbols. This is extremely unacceptable!"

"Officers from Hucknall beat team helped the local community to clean the graffiti from their properties."

"High visibility patrols are to be increased in the area."

The post concluded: "Please let us know if anything further happens and if you have any information."
