Popular Hucknall bar Damo's confirms first weekend in March will be its final weekend before permanent closure
The owner of a Hucknall bar has confirmed details of when it will close.
Damien O'Connor, who owns and runs Damo's on Annesley Road took to social media to inform regulars that the final weekend of the pub's existence will be Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 March.
The venue has been open just under four years and has become a big force for good in the community in a very short space of time.
Since the news, speculation has been rife about what Mr O'Connor will do next but so far he has remained tight lipped when asked about his plans for the future.
Earlier this evening (Monday 16 January), he took to Facebook to confirm the closing date of Damo's and thank people for their support over the last few days.
Mr O'Connor posted: "Just a little update on how things are going with our recent announcement on closing. We have our date when we plan to close and it's with a heavy heart we announce that the weekend of Friday 3rd - Sunday 5th March will be our last.
"I would like to thank those who have messaged us over the past week, dropped (in), wished us the best for future endeavours and shared a pint with us these last few days.
"We are currently accepting reasonable offers for items within the bar and have a "wish list" for items that customers wish to purchase and take as a memento/memorabilia on our departure.
"We kindly request that those looking for items drop in personally as we won't at this time be monitoring any online requests in the comments or messages on social media. "Everything must go" as they say from the Air con to the glass washer, Fridges to the TV's and all the nik-naks, posters, plaques and all other miscellaneous items."
