Trams around Hucknall remain suspended this morning (Wednesday, 14 June) as investigations continue into the death of three people in Nottingham.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the deaths in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Nottinghamshire Police said it is keeping an 'open mind' over the motive of the city attacks - but at this time believe there is no one else outstanding in connection with the incidents.

Trams were suspended across the area yesterday, with roads around the crime scene also shut.

An update from Nottingham Express Transit (NET) this morning said: "Due to the ongoing issue in Bulwell, we will have a replacement bus service in operation from Tuesday 13 of June for customers travelling from the Hucknall and Bulwell area towards Toton Lane.

"The replacement bus service will start from Hucknall at 6am, running every 20 minutes. The service loops between Hucknall and Cinderhill Island.

"Customers will then need to board the tram at Cinderhill towards Clifton South.

"If you need to reach stops between Nottingham Station and Toton Lane, then you can change to a Toton Lane tram at any point between Wilkinson Street and Nottingham Station.

"EMR will be accepting our tickets and passes between Hucknall and Nottingham Station. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers and we are working hard to restore services back to normal."

Nottinghamshire Police said it was called to Ilkeston Road in the city at 4am on Tuesday where two people were found dead.

Officers were called to a second incident on Milton Street, where a van had attempted to run over three people, who are being treated for their injuries.

And a man was subsequently found dead in Magdale Road.

Chief Constable Kate Meynell said in a statement last night: "As you all know, today there has been a shocking and tragic series of events which has led to the lives of three innocent people being taken and left another member of the public in a critical condition in hospital.

"My thoughts are with all the families affected by this horrific incident, and we are working extremely hard to understand exactly what has happened."
