A Nottingham based charity whose main aim is to support the use of greener transport across the county has cancelled its cycling session in Hucknall this Saturday due to the weather.

RideWise, based in Lenton, has been holding a series of weekly sessions at Titchfield Park in Hucknall since the start of February. These have provided opportunities for locals to hire bikes and helmets free of charge.

However, with Hucknall experiencing snow showers on Wednesday night (8 March) and throughout today (9 March), and even heavier snowfall forecast for tomorrow (Friday 10 March), the decision was made to cancel this Saturday's event.

Taking to Facebook, the charity posted a statement saying: "Apologies to anyone planning to join us this weekend, but due to the current weather forecast, we won't be running any sessions this Saturday 11th March. All bookings will be cancelled. All being well, we'll be back the following week!"

The sessions are scheduled to run until the end of March, for more information, please click here.
