Hucknall rail passengers are being warned to expect significant disruption to their journeys this week due to strike action.

Strikes will affect rail services across the country, including East Midlands Railways (EMR) which operates the trains that call at Hucknall Station, between Wednesday 5 and Sunday 9 October.

A statement on EMR's website says: "If you are planning to travel during this week it is important to check your journey as services will be significantly reduced and timetables will vary from day to day. This is because strike action will be taken by different groups of staff on different days."

On the Wednesday there won't be any EMR services operating across the country at all.

A statement on their website reads: "As a result of members of the ASLEF Union taking strike action on Wednesday 5 October 2022, there will be no EMR services operating on this date. Rail Replacement Bus services will not be provided.

"Members of the TSSA Union will also be taking action short of strike."

On Thursday and Friday of this week there will be a 'significantly reduced service'.

EMR's website says: "Members of the Unite union will take strike action from midnight on Thursday 6 October.

"Unite members predominantly work in our depots and this affects our ability to provide trains for the days service.

"As a result, we will operate a significantly reduced service on both Thursday 6 and Friday 7 October.

"Customers should only travel by rail if absolutely necessary."

Services on the Robin Hood Line, which calls at Hucknall Station, will be 'slightly reduced' on the two days but will run all day.

On Saturday, some EMR services will operate between 7:30am and 6:30pm, however there won't be any services on the Robin Hood Line at any point during the day and rail replacement bus services will not be provided.

There isn't any strike action planned for Sunday and a full service is expected to be operational but there will be a later start up due to the strike action from the day before.
