Success for Trentbarton's employees hailing from Hucknall at annual awards
There was a considerable amount of success for Trentbarton's employees hailing from Hucknall at their Really good service awards which were held earlier this month.
The bus company said in a statement: "It is important for us to celebrate and reward those members of our team that have excelled in their job and have gone that extra mile.
"Our success is not just a result of our hard working drivers, it's also driven by talented young apprentices, dedicated engineers, committed admin staff and IT whizz kids who all play their part in steering us in the right direction."
Among the numerous winners were married couple Tracy and Peter Hayes who work at the company's Sutton depot.
The couple, who are both bus drivers, claimed the 'Hero of the Year' award after working as a team to help an elderly regular passenger to get home.
As Peter was walking home, he spotted the lady waiting at a Sutton stop for a bus which he knew wouldn't be arriving.
He then called Tracy, who was in her pyjamas at home. She hopped in their car to collect the customer and take her safely home.
Tracy, who is originally from Hucknall, and drives the threes, said: "Winning this award is brilliant."
And Peter added: "We've both put a lot into this job so it is good to be recognised for what we do."
Another Hucknall winner, was 21-year-old Ben Selby, who won the 'Apprentice of the Year' award which was sponsored by PSV Glass.
Ben, who lives in Hucknall and works at Langley Mill, joined Trentbarton as an apprentice in 2019: He said: "It's brilliant to win this award. I'm really pleased."
