A 17-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating of an emergency worker following an incident that happened in Hucknall on Tuesday (17th August) evening.

Police were called to a disturbance in Nabbs Lane at about 10pm and on the scene multiple police officers were assaulted by the teenager.

The girl punched an officer in the face and kicked a door resulting in a piece of glass causing a small cut to an officer's eye. She bit another on the hand and kneed a further officer to the body.

Chief Inspector Fifi Gulam-Husen, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Police officers and colleagues from other emergency services work so hard, day in and day out, to help and protect the communities they serve.

"It simply shouldn't be considered part of their job to be assaulted or abused. The impact of abuse and physical assaults can remain with them, their colleagues, and families long after the incident.

"As these arrests show, Nottinghamshire Police and its partner services will not tolerate assaults on emergency workers. We take these reports extremely seriously and will take robust action against anyone who engages in such abhorrent behaviour."

Nottinghamshire Police stated that they are continuing to support the officers involved in these incidents to ensure their safety, health, and wellbeing.
