The child involved in a road traffic collision in Hucknall on Thursday did not suffer life altering injuries as first feared.

The incident happened on Torkard Way on Thursday afternoon and resulted in the road being closed while police investigated the scene. Initial reports suggested that she had suffered life altering injuries.

However, Nottinghamshire Police have now confirmed that the girl's injuries were not as serious as first thought.

In a statement, they said: "The child's condition is now being described as minor injuries to her foot and not life altering."
