The vaccination bus will be making another trip to Hucknall this Thursday.

It will stop off at the Broomhill Inn on Broomhill Road from 10am until 4pm.

The visit comes as positive tests for COVID-19 passed the 20,000 mark across the Ashfield District – a sixth of the population.

There is also a PCR testing site open in Hucknall this week (Tuesday 9 November, Wednesday 10 November and Thursday 11 November) on Piggin's Croft Car Park from 9am until 3pm.

Hucknall Ashfield Independent Councillor Jim Blagden, of the Council's COVID Recovery Panel said: "As a Council we're working hard to provide both access to vaccinations and testing.

"The reality is that COVID is not going away and your Hucknall, Ashfield Independent Councillors will continue to push hard to ensure that services are available in our town.

"You don't need to make an appointment for either the mobile testing site or the vaccination bus. This is just one of the sites we put forward to NHS bosses – others include the car park at the George Street Club and the pedestrian area in our Town Centre close to the library."

Councillor Lee Waters said, "I welcome the visit of the mobile PCR testing site as residents in Hucknall have complained about lack of access to testing. This is something your councillors have taken up on behalf of local residents in our town.

"We are doing everything we can to deliver as many services as possible for Hucknall residents in the fight against COVID-19 and will continue to do that. Please take advantage. We will release further dates when we have them."

The announcement of the visit of the vaccination bus comes just a few days after it was revealed that 16% of residents in Hucknall and across Ashfield have not had their first jab and 23% haven't had their second jab.

The bus is for drop-ins only, so residents just have to turn up on the day if they are eligible for their first, second or booster vaccine. Anyone aged 18 or over can use the service.

If residents are unsure, or have any questions, they can come and speak to a clinician on board the bus.
