A Hucknall man has warned motorists to be wary of debris on the road on Nabbs Lane tonight after he saw a number of screws had been dropped on the road.

Danny Clayton, got out of his car and collected as many of them as he could in an attempt to prevent motorists from sustaining punctures by running over them.

Mr Clayton then took to Facebook to warn people of the potential hazard. He wrote: "Spotted a load of these screws on the road at the traffic lights at bottom of Nabbs lane. My partner dropped me off and I have picked up loads of them from the lights up to Salterford Road junction.

"More than likely will be more carrying on up Nabbs lane and where ever [sic] the van that's dropping them has gone so keep an eye out as I'm sure nobody will be happy running over one and needing a new tyre. If anybody else spots any please pick them up to save others. My biggest worry is a motorbike hitting one. It can cause a blow out and potentially kill a biker."
