Police investigating an alleged assault in Titchfield Park on Tuesday evening are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Sources suggest the victim was targeted by a group and grabbed around the neck during the ordeal.

The mobile vaccination bus will make its second visit to Hucknall on Tuesday (31 August).

The bus will be at Piggins Croft Car Park from 10am until 2pm and will be for drop-in appointments only. This means if you are eligible to have a Coronavirus vaccination then all that will be required is for you to turn up on the day.

Hucknall's Ashfield Independent Councillors have labelled e-scooters in Hucknall as a 'menace' and 'a danger to the public.'

The Government are currently trialling e-scooters in some major cities including Nottingham. The Councillors believe that the government trial in nearby Nottingham has 'exacerbated' the problem with many confused about the legality of using them in places like Hucknall.

Nottinghamshire County Council, in partnership with Veolia, will be running a Notts Recycles Go Green for September Campaign. This is a month-long campaign based on Reduce, Reuse and Recycle messages to celebrate both Zero Waste Week (6-10 September) and National Recycle Week (20-26 September).

The challenge will run from 1 to 30 September 2021 and offers residents the opportunity to sign up and join the fight against climate change.

The very first Nottinghamshire Day, celebrating everything that is good about the county, is being held today (Wednesday 25 August).

Nottinghamshire County Council unanimously approved the idea last month and it will now become an annual celebration.

Tram services will be suspended between Hucknall and Bulwell for an estimated two and a half hours this Sunday morning (29 August).

The suspension is to allow essential maintenance to be carried out by Network Rail in the Bulwell Forest area. The work is expected to take place between 6am and 8:30am.

There will be a garage sale on the Papplewick Green estate this Sunday (29 August) with all money raised from stall registrations going to Hucknall food bank.

The event is being organised by Katie Leivers who lives on the estate. As well as the stalls, there will be collection baskets for food donations that will be given to the foodbank.

Hucknall Town have made a solid start to life in the Uhlsport United Counties League Division One with two wins, one draw and one defeat from their opening four matches.

They are unbeaten at Watnall Road so far and will be hoping that it remains a fortress for them throughout the campaign.

Popular Hucknall events venue the John Godber Centre enjoyed a good turnout for its open day yesterday (Sunday 22 August).

The Centre, in its 114th year of existence, used the day to inform people that it is again fully functional after such a heavily disrupted past 18 months due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
