The Met Office has issued a yellow thunderstorm warning for Hucknall and its surrounding areas on Friday (6th August).

According to the Met Office website: "Heavy showers are expected across much of the UK on Friday. Within the warning area these showers and thunderstorms will be slow moving and may cause localised surface water impacts. Rainfall totals will vary considerably and not all locations will be affected by the heaviest showers.

Nottingham train station now has a designated, welcoming space for passengers who require assistance or need a calm place to wait for their train.

Created by East Midlands Railway, the Assisted Travel Lounge, provides customers who have booked passenger assistance a designated waiting area and a clear meeting point. It has been installed on the dispersal bridge at the station.

Police have charged a man in connection with an incident following reports that a woman was left bruised and swollen after being punched in Hucknall.

Officers were called to Lime Tree Road, just before 10.30am on Sunday (1 August 2021) to reports of the assault, where it's also alleged that the woman's phone was smashed.

Ashfield District Council voted unanimously on a motion concerning miners' pensions in Thursday night's meeting.
