Hucknall Town battled back from an early scare on Saturday (22 October) to record a 4-1 win over Newark Town, their tenth victory of the season.
Goals from Aaron Lamb, Joe Butler and a Craig Westcarr brace ensured Hucknall claimed all three points, despite having trailed 1-0 early on, to stay fourth in the Uhlsport United Counties Division One table.
A sloppy start meant that The Yellows were behind within a minute of the match kicking off as Lewis Chambers headed home to give the hosts an early boost.
Hucknall responded well to the early setback and were level just 15 minutes later. Joe Ashurst's shot was well saved by the Newark goalkeeper but he could only parry the effort, and Lamb pounced quickest to tuck the loose ball away.
With ten minutes of the half remaining, Westcarr put Hucknall into the lead as he nodded home a Connor Whiles cross, meaning the visitors left the field at half-time with a slender lead.
Westcarr added his second and Hucknall's third just after the hour mark with a sweet half-volley following Kieran Knight's cross.
And with just over five minutes remaining, substitute Butler rounded off the scoring with a neat finish after good work once again from Knight.
Hucknall remain comfortably in the play-off places but trail leaders Aylestone Park by eight points after 16 matches.
The Yellows don't have a fixture this weekend due to their intended opponents having a cup game.
Instead, they will return to action on Saturday 5 November when they travel to Harrowby United.
