Hucknall's Joe Worrall and Forest team-mates Wembley bound after dramatic penalty shoot-out semi-final victory
Hucknall's Joe Worrall captained Nottingham Forest on a historic night at The City Ground as a penalty shoot-out victory over Sheffield United sealed the club's place in the Championship play-off final.
This means that the club are just one win away from returning to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years.
Standing in Forest's way will be Huddersfield Town who beat Luton Town 1-0 (2-1 agg) on Monday night (16 May).
The final, which will be held at Wembley, will be Forest's first visit to the 'new' ground since it opened in 2007 and their first visit to Wembley at all since 1992.
Forest looked to be cruising into the final early on last night (17 May), as holding a 2-1 advantage from the first leg, Brennan Johnson opened the scoring inside 20 minutes to give the hosts a decent cushion.
However, The Blades rallied in the second half and goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and John Fleck drew the aggregate score level and sent the game into extra time.
With neither side able to find a breakthrough, the game went to penalties, and it was Forest who prevailed thanks largely to the heroics of goalkeeper Brice Samba who saved three spot kicks in a dramatic shoot-out.
The play-off final will take place on Sunday 29 May, with Worrall looking to be the first captain since Steve Chettle in the 1997-1998 season to skipper Forest to Premier League promotion.
