Both of Hucknall's petrol stations once again have fuel but there are mass queues at the pumps as people continue to panic buy fuel.
Yesterday (Wednesday 29 September), the town ran dry as both Tesco Extra, on Ashgate Road and the Texaco Bypass filling station ran out of fuel.
A shortage of HGV drivers has caused issues with transporting fuel to forecourts and in reaction to this there has been mass panic buying up and down the country since late last week.
Texaco received a delivery this morning; they have staff marshalling vehicles into the forecourt and ensuring the queue keeps moving. They have been limiting each customer to a maximum of £30 worth of fuel.
Tesco is also now using staff to direct vehicles around the car park and into the petrol station to ease congestion for shoppers.
Yesterday, was the second time in four days that Hucknall had been completely out of fuel, and this has put pressure on petrol stations in surrounding areas such as Annesley, Bulwell and Top Valley which have also run dry at various points in recent days.
The government is set to deploy military personnel to drive oil tankers later this week in an attempt to ease pressure on petrol stations across the country.
