Hucknall residents flock to Batman fan event at The Arc Cinema
There was a big turnout at The Arc Cinema in Hucknall last night (Friday 4 March) as the venue held its Batman fan event.
The cinema chose to mark the release of the film, 'The Batman' directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson, by hiring the batmobile that was used in the 1989 Tim Burton version of the franchise and parking it outside the cinema.
Residents were then able to queue up to have their picture taken next to the vehicle along with a person dressed in an authentic Batman costume from the same film in which Michael Keaton starred as the titular character.
The photo opportunity was included in the event ticket price or available to non-ticketholders for a £3 donation, with the money being donated to Hucknall charity the Hope Lea project.
Speaking exclusively to Hucknall Nub News, Cinema manager Mark Gallagher said: "I'm buzzing, it's been absolutely brilliant. Loads of kids have come out, loads of families. Character Cars, (the company the batmobile was hired from) have been absolutely great to work with."
The event proved incredibly popular with local residents who were very complimentary about the cinema and the event as a whole.
Rob Bradley, who was just about to go into the cinema to watch the film when he spoke to Hucknall Nub News said: "It's brilliant, I love it! I did the Ghostbusters one as well, brilliant that was.
David Hyslop echoed these sentiments. Speaking exclusively to Hucknall Nub News, he said: "It's been a while since the cinema's been in use so it's always a good thing to have these events, get people down. The fact that I was born in the 80s, so Ghostbusters, my (era of) film; 1989, I was brought up on that Batman."
There are still several opportunities to watch 'The Batman' at The Arc Cinema this week, for information about screenings, see here or to book tickets click here.
