Firefighters attended the scene of a blaze at a derelict building in Hucknall in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 7 January).

A crew from Hucknall Fire Station were one of four crews to tackle the fire which happened on Albert Street. No one was injured.

A statement from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, released earlier today, said: "We were called at 1:03am on Saturday 7 January to a derelict building fire on Albert Street, Hucknall. The fire was on the ground floor of the building.

"Crews from Hucknall, Stockhill, Arnold and Mansfield were mobilised to the incident, including Mansfield's aerial ladder platform.

"On arrival the building was well alight. Firefighters used 10 breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets, one jet short extension, breaking in gear and a nine-metre ladder to extinguish the fire.

"No injuries were reported. We left the scene by 9am after inspecting for hotspots throughout the night.
