Hucknall will stage its third ever food and drink festival next month.

The Ashfield Food and Drink Festival will be held on Hucknall High Street on Sunday 21 August.

The event, which has been jointly organised by Ashfield District Council, with partners Discover Ashfield and Lincoln Green Brewery, will run from 10am – 4pm.

It follows the huge success of the first two food and drink festivals in 2021.

The first edition was held in August last year and was an instant hit, with many stall holders selling out by the afternoon thanks to the large numbers of visitors.

The level of popularity was so high that a winter food and drink festival was organised for November and despite bitterly cold temperatures an estimated 3000 people attended during the day.

So far, this year's festival is set to feature over 35 stalls, selling a variety of artisan food, drinks, produce and gifts, with many of the popular traders from the first festival returning.

There will be a number of brand new traders for 2022 which include: Beanin Coffee, a mobile coffee van selling freshly roasted artisan coffee; Colombo Street, who sell authentic, vibrant, Sri Lankan street food; and Penny Lane Fudge, luxury artisan fudge (all gluten free) including vegan and dairy free options.

The event will once again feature freshly made hot food including authentic Neapolitan pizzas from B'Reyt Dough, samosas and epic onion bhaji burgers from Chilli Guys, and Sicilian food from Heart of Sicily. Homemade gooey luxury brownies will be on offer from Blondie Brownie Bakes alongside stuffed cookie cups from Outlaw Cookie Club.

Cider and ale lovers will also be in their element with a variety of breweries exhibiting including Hucknall's own Torkard Cider and Lincoln Green Brewery.

There are still a few spaces available for the event, and if interested, businesses are asked to email [email protected] for an application form.

Councillor John Wilmott, Ward Councillor for Hucknall North, said: "We are so excited to be able to bring the Food and Drink Festival back to Hucknall, after the first two events were such a success. We have attracted traders from all over the county, and beyond, to bring some of the best food and drinks to Hucknall.

"We hope that residents come out in their thousands again and support the small businesses that are attending the festival. The Food and Drink Festival follows a summer of fantastic free events from Ashfield District Council, and there's still more to come with Ashfield Day and the Ashfield Film Festival in partnership with Arc Cinema!"
