Hucknall Town's pre-season schedule will now begin with a home game against Sherwood Colliery on Thursday.

The Yellows had been due to face Step Four side Carlton Town but tweeted on Monday evening: "Due to circumstances beyond the control of Hucknall and Carlton Town - we are looking for opposition @ Watnall road this Thursday kick off 7.45pm. Any clubs interested please contact Hucknall Town ASAP."

Sherwood, who were promoted from the East Midlands Counties League in which they competed against Hucknall last season, have stepped in at the last minute to fill the void.

In a statement on their website, Hucknall said: "The club would like to thank Sherwood for stepping in at short notice to allow the fixture to go ahead."

Entry for the game at Watnall Road is priced at £3 for adults, £2 Concessions and £1 for children.
