Updated: Man suffers minor injuries following reported gas explosion at Hucknall address

A man has been taken to hospital with minor injuries following a reported butane gas bottle explosion in Hucknall. The cause is as yet undetermined.

The incident happened at around 2:30pm today at an address in Chatsworth Drive, just off Watnall Road.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service have released the following statement: "Firefighters from Hucknall and Stockhill Fire Station responded to reports of a gas explosion just after 14:30pm today on Chatsworth Drive, Hucknall."

"The occupant has been taken to QMC Hospital to be treated for burns.

"The incident is being handed over to Nottinghamshire Police, and when it is safe to do so, we will carry out a joint investigation."
