Police made an arrest after discovering Class A and B drugs during a search at a Hucknall address earlier this week.

The operation was carried out at an address on St Mary's View on Ogle Street in the town on Tuesday (25 April). The suspect was later released whilst the investigation continues.

This action followed an appeal from the police earlier in the week for information from the public about causes of 'community upset'.

A statement on Ashfield Police's Facebook page said: "Yesterday (Tuesday) we conducted a search at an address on St Marys View Ogle Street Hucknall. Whilst at the address we seized quantities of class A + B drugs, related paraphernalia and prescription medication which would appear to be being misused.

"Also recovered was a can of pepper spray which constitutes a section 5 firearm. As part of the operation a female was arrested in relation to these matters and later released whilst investigations continue.

"Officers are currently collating evidence to assess the level of community concern linked to the address and considering applying for a closure order to prevent any further criminality, nuisance or disorder associated to the address. If you are concerned regarding a property in this area please contact us confidentially to discuss further."
