The site manager overseeing a major housing development in Hucknall has won a prestigious Seal of Excellence award for the quality of his work.

Dave Pringle, who is overseeing Bellway's Abbey Fields Grange build, scooped the prize at the National House Building Council (NHBC) awards alongside 20 other site managers in the region.

The estate, off Nottingham Road, will see a further 217 houses built.

Abbey Fields Grange is the second phase of a wider scheme to deliver 358 homes on this site, following the 141 homes already built at neighbouring Abbey Fields. Work is expected to be complete by 2025.

Fellow Bellway East Midlands managers Gary Archer at Sherwood Gate in Linby and Chris Smith at Stoughton Park in Oadby also claimed awards at the NHBC event.

Dave, 54, who lives in Nottingham, said: "I am enormously proud of the work we are doing at Abbey Fields Grange building high quality homes.

"We have an excellent team here and the diligence and hard work they display every day allow us to reach excellent standards.

"Winning a Seal of Excellence award is testament to that hard work. I'm delighted to be given this award and see our achievements recognised."

The NHBC organises the Pride in the Job awards each year and every site manager with a site that is registered for an NHBC Buildmark warranty is entered into the competition.

This year that was more than 8,000 site managers and of those, 443 received a Quality Award in the competition. The Seal of Excellence is the next stage of the contest when the very best Quality Award winners go on to receive the higher accolade.

The site managers are judged on consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise, and health and safety.
