Strike action by Senior Conductors who are members of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) has been extended until the middle of August.

This means further disruption for rail passengers travelling to and from Hucknall station.

Earlier, this month Nub News reported that the action would only impact services on the first three Sundays of June. This is now no longer the case and services will also be affected on Sunday 27th June, every Sunday in July and the first three Sundays of August.

It will be the following services due to stop at Hucknall that will be disrupted:

  • 0912 Nottingham to Mansfield Woodhouse
  • 1912 Nottingham to Mansfield Woodhouse
  • 0956 Mansfield Woodhouse to Nottingham

A rail replacement bus will run in place of each of the cancelled trains.

In response to the news that the strike action will be extended East Midlands Railway said: "We are extremely disappointed the RMT has taken the decision to extend their strikes throughout the summer.

"At a time when the railway continues to benefit from taxpayer support and no one has been furloughed or lost their job this action damages our ability to support the East Midlands recovery from the Covid pandemic and attract people back to the railway and support public transport as a whole."
